MISSION
The “legacy market” refers to cannabis growers, distributors, and providers who operated before state licensing, primarily under Proposition 215 and later SB 420.
The purpose of CannabisMED is to provide a legal, compliant pathway for qualified patients to access premium cannabis products directly from legacy producers. These cultivators are members of the Medical Cannabis Cultivators Association (MCCA), a nonprofit organization of cultivators on behalf of qualified patients.
California’s current regulations for the Medicinal and Adult Use of Cannabis Recreational and Safety Act (MAUCRSA) recognizes legacy cultivators/producers as a legal source of cannabis products for qualified patients.
About CannabisMED
All transactions are between the patient and cultivator/producer.
The products featured on CannabisMED are produced by members of the California Medical Cannabis Cultivators (CMCC) — a nonprofit Association of legacy cultivators who supplied medical cannabis dispensaries in California from 2003 to 2018.
CMCC oversees regulatory compliance and sets the Policies and Procedures for CannabisMED
Under current state regulations, these cultivators remain a legal source of cannabis products for qualified patients.
